it’s the official hawaii countdown …
only 44 more days until we start the island hopping.
it felt like the day would never come when i first bought the plane tickets.
but now our long awaited trip is just a little over a month away.
and what a spectacular month it shall be.
september is sometimes referred to as an “indian summer” here.
today i heard it called “summer for adults”.
i wondered… is it because while the kids are at school, mom and dad are doing cannon balls into the local neighborhood pool?
probably not, but they are definitely staying home and cooking less, and going out to restaurants more…
most homes here aren’t air conditioned, (a shocking thing to this native floridian) and no body wants to be inside cooking when it’s over 70 degrees outside.
the northern californians are a spoiled bunch, for sure.
but it sure does suit me.
