i recently found a drawing i did with the mantra: “simplicity is the key to sanity” written on it.

i like to remind myself often that the happiest people in the world have the least.

hopefully this zen feeling will follow me as i prepare to move. less is more. more is less.

and break free from all pre-conceived notions
of who i am who i should be

without baggage or jaded memories

but here i remain, behind these walls of pain
i could withstand a whole lot more

feeling pretty peachy these days
just in time to go back to work

mmm, this lemon-aid i’ve been been whipping up for the past couple weeks is finally starting to taste like something edible. the bitterness of falling is wearing off and the sweet taste of recovery is coming to the forefront of my palate… and i’ve gotta say, it’s delicious!
taking full breaths, walking around, sitting, standing,… these are all new and exciting again. it may be another month before i can fully bend or twist or arch my back, and i may not be able to ride my bike for a while… but i am grateful for so many other things… the air that fills my lungs, my healthy heart that pumps blood thru my veins, and most importantly, i am grateful for the mind that allows me to be grateful for all i have.
it’s not that i believe that there is nothing without the mind… but certainly perception is responsible for most of our existence. without the mind there is something, but it is not the something that exists with it.
and with that said, let’s get down to this feast of lemons! the meyer lemons that grow around the bay area really are sweeter than the lemons back in florida. this is not a perception thing, or is it…
