NEW MUSIC PROJECT AND ALBUM
the long and the short of it:
this has been a lifetime in the making
i started out as “melo in d minor” when i was a teenager
(my first ‘zine was titled “the truth lies”… eat your heart out feist!)
that angst transpired into tri mi pi
i lost my voice playing around with mira, trust weiness and a low cost affordable heating plan
but “for now” forced me to push the boundaries of convention, with homemade instruments and puppets
i tried to invent “couples only skate” with my partner
but it turns out he was a lying cheating son of a bitch!
so now i’m on my own (with a little help from my friends)
current manifestation of self: “mel and collie”
mel and collie’s first album is called “thanks for the name”
it is dedicated to the mother that raised me, the father that i have not yet met… and to the man who shattered the broken pieces of my heart into infinity. the album is an emotional roller coaster but like anything else…
just because it starts off sad doesn’t mean it can’t have a happy ending!
viva la ending de happy!
“thank you for listening”
i’ve been to hell and back this past year
and while it’s been difficult to find myself
in this sea of pain and depression
once i started writing songs again
i was able to start to come out of it
it’s some of the saddest material i’ve ever written
but it makes me happier than i’ve been in years
most of the songs are originals
but i did give into some fun covers
here is just a taste of what is to come…
